چکیده

Abstract Flood-induced scours near the pier foundation are an adverse phenomenon that may cause collapse of bridges. However, in seismic design bridges, scour impact is commonly ignored when evaluating response. This study aims to quantify effect flood-induced on nonlinear static and dynamic behaviors typical reinforced concrete For this regard, three-dimensional finite element models two- three-span bridges with a multi-cell box girder, circular column bent, extended pile-shaft first developed, where bent modeled considering material geometry nonlinearity. The interaction between soil structure also accounted for by using spring models. By different depths, modal, pushover, time-history analyses both directions investigated. It observed from modal analysis fundamental periods increase depth. In addition, results terms drift ratio show damage which transfers foundation. findings exhibit significant bridges; therefore, it recommended should be considered bridge design.

Seismic Damage Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Building Considering Member Fracture

The Adaptively Shifted Integration (ASI) technique, which produces the highest computational efficiency in the finite element analyses of framed structures including static and dynamic collapse problems, is applied to the seismic damage analysis of a reinforced concrete building. By expressing member fracture by a plastic hinge located at the exact position with a simultaneous release of result...

Seismic Performance of Steel Plate-Reinforced Concrete Composite Shear Wall

In tall buildings the reinforced concrete (RC) shear wall is one of the predominant structural components used to resist lateral loads induced by earthquakes around the world. Previous research demonstrated that shear walls displayed a sudden loss in lateral capacity due to the wall corner and web crushing in the plastic zone. In addition, it was found that large shear distortions in shear wall...

Seismic Performance Analysis of FRP Reinforced Concrete Frame Structure

Based on the experimental study for seismic performance of FRP reinforced concrete beam-column joints, two-storey two-span plane frames were taken for examples, in which the static elastoplastic analysis (the pushover method) was carried on the joints of the FRP strengthened concrete frames, and then the comparative analysis was made on seismic performance of RFP strengthened frame structure th...

Damage-Based Seismic Performance Evaluation of Reinforced Concrete Frames

A damage-based approach for the performance-based seismic assessment of reinforced concrete frame structures is proposed. A new methodology for structural damage assessment is developed that utilizes response information at the material level in each section fiber. The concept of the damage evolution is analyzed at the section level and the computed damage is calibrated with observed experiment...

Considering the Soil Effects on Design Process of Performance-Based Plastic Design for Reinforced Concrete Structures

In this research, Performance-Based Plastic Design (PBPD) method has been modified according to the proposed method for considering Soil–Structure Interaction (SSI) effects. In the proposed modified method, based on the existing relationships and in order to maintain the simplicity of the PBPD design method, two important parameters have been modified in the PBPD design method. These two parame...
